Summary

Very differentI wasn't sure I would like this book, but once I started it could barely put it done。 Micah and Viori grew up alone and lonely, each going through a rough childhood。 Fighting each other through a chaotic relationship, with trees, dolls and animals come to life, they found a great love。 Great book。 Very differentI wasn't sure I would like this book, but once I started it could barely put it done。 Micah and Viori grew up alone and lonely, each going through a rough childhood。 Fighting each other through a chaotic relationship, with trees, dolls and animals come to life, they found a great love。 Great book。 。。。more

I was mostly bored reading this。 That’s so disappointing because Showalter is one of my favorite authors。 This had none of the spark that the Lords of the Underworld had。

This series is brilliantly crafted, viciously funny and a wild and crazy ride as we cheer once more for the antihero(es)。 The thing about this series is that each character is multi-faceted。 There's no line between good and evil。 Everyone is a little (or a lot) of both! Ruthless is out of the ordinary and uncomfortably beautiful in its design with vivid scenery and wicked imagery and a whole heap of tomfoolery! Don't take my word for it, experience it for yourself! Estuvo bueno, sólo que se tomó su tiempo para desarrollar los sentimientos de los personajes y cuándo ya aceptaron sus sentimientos fue todo muy apresurado

I know this book is not for me because when I skipped the whole bunch of pages (30-70%) I don't think I missed much。 Their cartoonish conversation and modern slang made me disoriented and disconnected from the fantasy world。 I don’t like the way heroine creates monsters killing innocent people everywhere without remorse, again, for what reasons? This is the second book in the Immortal Enemies series。 I would recommend that you read "Heartless", which is the first book in the series, because this book starts up about 11 months after the truce that was called between Micah the Unwilling and Kaysar the Unhinged and his wife Cookie the Uncrumbled。 A mystery that carried over from "Heartless" is what happened to Kaysar's younger sister Viori。 In this story we find out she has raised herself in the woods。 Viori's fae power is to create elemen This is the second book in the Immortal Enemies series。 I would recommend that you read "Heartless", which is the first book in the series, because this book starts up about 11 months after the truce that was called between Micah the Unwilling and Kaysar the Unhinged and his wife Cookie the Uncrumbled。 A mystery that carried over from "Heartless" is what happened to Kaysar's younger sister Viori。 In this story we find out she has raised herself in the woods。 Viori's fae power is to create elemental beings, but her creation take a toll on her and she falls into a deep sleep after bringing them to life。 Micah found Viori when he was a teenager。 Viori mistakenly believes that she was wronged Kaysar, so she joins Micah's camp as a spy。 It is during this time that they begin to get to know each other。 They grow closer as they discover who they each truly are。 The end give amazing battle scenes。 We are introduced to new characters and get to see some of our old favorites。 It is a satisfying ending that leaves just enough uncertainty to lead into the next book in the series。 Viori and Micah were strong characters who also provided some sweet and sexy moments。I would highly recommend this book。I was provided an ARC through NetGalley for an honest review of the material。 。。。more

4⭐️Thought it would have more spice but the story kept me hooked。 Loved it! Wish I could have more of Micah and Viori even after their HEA

Love Gena's stories but this took me awhile to get into。 Wasn't fond of the 2 main characters throughout the book。 It started to pick up about 3/4 of the way in and ended well and while I liked it, it definitely wasn't one of my favorites。 Love Gena's stories but this took me awhile to get into。 Wasn't fond of the 2 main characters throughout the book。 It started to pick up about 3/4 of the way in and ended well and while I liked it, it definitely wasn't one of my favorites。 。。。more

EternityWe’ve all been waiting to find out what happened to Viori! And of course it would have to be with Micah, Kaysars Enemy, lol。 It wouldn’t be fitting with anyone else。 A love that had been growing over the years。 One always “flitting” about the other steadfastly wooing her even while she slumbered。 It’s like sleeping beauty with a twist。

3。5The connection between Micah and Viori was the strongest part of this book。 Their connection jumped off the page and I appreciated how Showalter paced their relationship。 It made them ultimate getting together so rewarding and I looked forward to scenes with just the two of them。 But while the relationship between the two was well balanced the rest of the story wasn’t。 I was expecting this book to have the same pace as the first book but it is definitely slowed down and I wanted more action。 3。5The connection between Micah and Viori was the strongest part of this book。 Their connection jumped off the page and I appreciated how Showalter paced their relationship。 It made them ultimate getting together so rewarding and I looked forward to scenes with just the two of them。 But while the relationship between the two was well balanced the rest of the story wasn’t。 I was expecting this book to have the same pace as the first book but it is definitely slowed down and I wanted more action。 I also think the conflict that happens at the end of the book could have been built up a bit more。*Thank you to the publisher for providing me with a review copy in exchange for my honest opinion。 。。。more

My first review of 2023 and 。 。 。 。 My impression after reading a third of the way in was - this world is populated by crazy people。 Lunatics。 I really hate to DNF books, especially ones in my yearly challenge, and I came close to doing it with this one。 All of the characters are immature and often just plain bonkers。 While I have read and liked other books by this author, I'm seriously consider not continuing this series。 My first review of 2023 and 。 。 。 。 My impression after reading a third of the way in was - this world is populated by crazy people。 Lunatics。 I really hate to DNF books, especially ones in my yearly challenge, and I came close to doing it with this one。 All of the characters are immature and often just plain bonkers。 While I have read and liked other books by this author, I'm seriously consider not continuing this series。 。。。more

This is an enchanting tale of a pariah trying to do what is right for his people and a lonely guilt filled heroine fighting divided loyalties。 I love that Gena describes what we wish we could do to our enemies deep, deep down inside of us。

The tale of Viori。 She learned to use her voice to create her artifical family。 The beau that ahe fall for stumbles cross her on accident。 Love eaching other for who they are and not what they precieve to be。

Fantastical, dark and as vicious as its hero and heroine this story is about two very lonely fae, who trust no one, yet yearn for the other across the centuries。 When they finally find each other in the present secrets may just drive them apart before they even gets the chance to love。 Enemies are everywhere, fate is playing them for fools and trust will be hard one but love may just win the day。

Valerie

What's different? I know I first read Gena Showalter's books for the first time a long time ago, but something different about these。 (And not a good different, unfortunately) The story feels forced and awkward, and the character development mediocre。 (For some reason I dislike every character。) I wish I could put my thumb on it, but this series just doesn't feel like the same author I've loved all these years。 What's different? A fae enemies to lovers romance smashed out of the park。 I absolutely love the fae Immortal Enemies series。 I fell in love with Viori from the first moment and love that she is referred to as a “feral kitten”。 She is fierce and takes what she wants。 I did not see the plot twist coming and was hanging on every word of the last third of the story。 I like how Cookie and Kaysar’s story got woven into this tale and this is my favorite series by this author。
